For folks who prefer G-Sync and 4K on a big screen, and are willing to spend some extra money on a gaming monitor better choose the best of the best. Fortunately, the Asus ROG Swift PG27A is offering a ton for its price and is definitely the one to choose!

Design

Asus monitors usually stand out more than the general gaming display, and so does the PG27A. With the futuristic patterns on its large base and the glowing red LED lights, it’s undoubtedly designed for gamers. The PG27A's adjustability is even more impressive. It’s possible to raise or lower the display 5 inches up or down, tilt it 5 degrees forward or 20 degrees backward, and swivel it 60 degrees left or right. Also, pivoting the screen into portrait mode is doable. Shortly, you certainly won’t need to struggle making it work in your setup.

Ports and Interface

When it comes to ports, the PG27A offers the essentials. It features DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI connections that allow you to keep your PC and console hooked up simultaneously. It also has an audio jack for your headphones and three USB 3.0 ports peripherals.

The interface of PG27A is pretty easy to navigate and so is the main menu of the monitor. So you won't waste time trying to find how to change inputs or adjust the brightness of the screen.

G-Sync Performance

Just when you think you won't ever need a pricey 4KG-Sync gaming monitor, you get your hands on one. The Nvidia G-Sync of the PG27A syncs up graphics card straight to the display to provide the smoothest experience possible. When playing graphically rich games at high settings, G-Sync is especially useful.

Color and Brightness

The area where Asus monitor stumbles a little is overall brightness. The display registers 234.2 nits on the light meter, which isn't as excellent as you would expect. But when it comes to color, the PG27A is far better. The display registers Delta E color-accuracy rating of 1.96, where 0 is the best. It also displayed a rich 130 percent of the sRGB color gamut.

Modes and Features

The PG27A has the usual handful of GamePlus features that come with most Asus monitors. That includes a timer and an on-screen frame-rate counter. They all work as advertised, and the included crosshairs sync up very well with most games.

In addition, you get a set of display presets dedicated to various genres. The default Scenery mode provides high brightness and a good amount of color. The extra-saturated RTS/RPG mode makes it easy to identify little details in a strategy game. While the high-contrast FPD mode does the same for shooters.

There's also a sRGB mode, a darker Cinema mode and a low-latency Racing mode which are handy for some photo work.

Audio

The 2-watt speakers of PG27A are quite satisfying - as far as built-in display audio reaches. Of course, you're still better off using a dedicated pair of speakers or a gaming headset, but the PG27A's integrated audio is satisfying enough for quick-play sessions.
